In this study, a novel piecewise curvature compensation circuit was presented for a bandgap reference. In order to significantly reduce the temperature drift of the reference voltage, the novel piecewise curvature compensation circuit adjusts the relative values of the positive and negative temperature-coefficient current to control the temperature threshold of the compensation current. A negative feedback structure is utilized to provide a bias voltage for cascode current mirror, which gives the reference voltage high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR). The bandgap reference circuit is designed using 1.8 V supply voltage and 0.18 um TSMC CMOS technology. Simulation results show that the temperature coefficient of the reference voltage is 2.036 ppm/°C in the typical process corner and 3.416 ppm/°C in the worst process corner over the range of -40°C to 130°C. The PSRR can reach 80dB (10 Hz) across each corner. The circuit consumes$109\ \mu \mathrm{W}$in total.
