Tetramethoxysilane polyester was prepared via hydrosilylation of Tetramethoxysilane with acryl-terminated polyester (Si-PET). GO dispersed Si-PET fluids (GO/Si-PET) were cured on a tinplate surface as coatings for tinplate via room temperature vulcanization with an applicable curing time. The mechanical properties, thermal stability, chemical resistance, and anticorrosion properties of the coatings were assessed. The mechanical properties of the material depend on the GO dispersion, and the best dispersed GO sheets lead to the highest flexibility and the lowest adhesive force to tinplate. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) confirmed that dispersions of graphene (GE), as barriers for molecular permeation, were also important. The coatings with the best dispersed GE, not those with the highest GE loadings, gave the highest Z′, |Z′′|, Rc and arc radii.
