In article number 2300720, Jialin Li, Yunhao Lu, Zhuan Xu, Linjun Li, and co-workers present the observation of avalanche-like 1D CDW transition phenomenon in (TaSe4)2I and achieve both a high photo responsivity of 1.18 × 103 A W−1 and a large light on/off ratio of 80 at the mid infrared (MIR) region. The dimensionality influence on the charge density wave transition for MIR photodetection is systematically investigated and achieves such high photodetection performance in quasi 1D CDW material, thus paving the way for exploiting them on advanced optoelectronic applications.
