Reliability Evaluation of Distribution Network with Soft Open Point Considering Line Dynamic Failure Rate and Fault Recovery Optimization

As a new type of power electronic device, SOP (Soft Open Point) plays an important role in improving the reliability and power supply quality of the distribution network. The reliability evaluation of distribution networks equipped with SOP is important to its planning. In this paper, a reliability evaluation approach of the distribution network equipped with SOP is proposed. An optimization model of distribution network fault recovery considering optimal island division is established, and the output of SOP is optimized by considering the island operation under the fault condition. At the same time, two different scenarios of dynamic line failure rate and fixed line failure rate are considered as well as the uncertainty of distributed generation output. The sequential Monte-Carlo method is used to evaluate the reliability. Through the comparison between the two scenarios, it is demonstrated that the SOP has an obvious affection on improving the reliability of distribution network, and the dynamic change of line failure rate over time is an influential factor that cannot be ignored. It also shows that this method can accurately evaluate the reliability of the distribution network with SOP.
