When overhauling or expanding the GIS equipment of the substation, it must be tested for AC withstand voltage. In the process of AC withstand voltage test of GIS equipment, only one disconnector break is separated between the test product and the normal operating part, and it is inevitable that the breakage SF6gas gap breakdown will occur and produce very fast transient overvoltage (VFTO), which will bring harm to the test equipment and operating equipment. Studying the voltage characteristics of the isolation break during the AC withstand voltage test and finding out the conditions for avoiding the insulation breakdown of the isolation breakdown, can provide theoretical guidance and data support for the live AC withstand voltage test of GIS equipment. Taking the 110kV GIS substation as the research object, this paper theoretically analyzes the isolation fracture voltage characteristics of GIS equipment during the live AC withstand voltage test, and designs a live AC withstand voltage test scheme for GIS equipment. The ATP-EMTP electromagnetic transient simulation software was used to simulate the test process, and the influence of VFTO generated under different working conditions on the test equipment and normal operation was simulated, and suppression measures were proposed to reduce overvoltage and overcurrent impulse.
