A tandem effect of atomically isolated copper–nitrogen sites and copper clusters enhances CO 2 electroreduction to ethylene

A Cu-based tandem catalyst shows high ethylene selectivity from the electrochemical CO 2 reduction reaction. In the catalyst, high-concentration CO is generated at one site and then converted with low energy barrier to ethylene at another site.
