Study on the optimal capacity allocation of converter stations for flexible DC interconnection systems in multi-distribution areas

The flexible management of flexible loads in direct current (DC) distribution systems can improve energy management effectively, reduce system investment and construction costs and increase the penetration of new energy. In this paper, a method to optimise the capacity allocation of converter stations in the DC distribution system is proposed, and the flexible load scheduling strategy of the system is considered. A two-layer multi-objective optimisation model is established with the objectives of lowest system investment and construction cost, maximum revenue and highest new energy penetration rate. Converter station capacity constraint, energy storage charging and discharging constraint and converter power constraint are taken into account as constrain condition. Taking actual scenario as an example, optimisation model is established and solved by particle swarm optimization algorithms (PSO). The results show that the strategy proposed in this paper can achieve flexible and effective management of the flexible load, and the converter station capacity obtained by optimisation has a certain degree of economy.
