Magnetic-susceptibility measurements on spherical CdS single crystals containing manganese impurity ranging from 0.026 to 5.0% mole fraction have indicated the importance of next-nearest-neighbor (nnn) and higher interactions in the description of the susceptibility ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{\mathrm{obs}}$ in the helium-temperature range. The observations imply that the nearest-neighbor (nn) interactions must have "locked-in" at temperatures well above 4\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K and therefore $\ensuremath{-}\frac{J}{k}>4\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$K, where $J$ is the nn exchange integral. Within the range of uncertainty in the knowledge of the precise values of ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{\mathrm{obs}}$ it may be deduced that the most important exchange parameters, the second-, third-, and fourth-nn parameters, are of the same order of magnitude, about 0.1\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K.
