Pyrite (FeS 2 ) is considered a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) relying on its high theoretical specific capacity and low cost. However, the application of FeS 2 as anodes has been greatly limited due to its low electrical conductivity and huge volume expansion during cycling. In this work, a facile approach was developed to prepare an FeS 2 and sulfur-doped graphene (SG) composite (FeS 2 /SG). The product exhibits good electrochemical performance in terms of a high capacity of 1033.4 mAh·g –1 at 0.1 A·g –1 after 60 cycles and good rate performance because of its conductive network and porous structure. Therefore, the FeS 2 /SG composite can be considered a candidate material for LIB anodes considering such desirable electrochemical performances and the economic synthesis route.
