Single-phase Disconnection Fault Location Method Based on Negative Sequence Current Distribution Feature

The wide application of overhead insulated conductor in distribution network increases the probability of disconnection fault. If the disconnection fault can not be found and handled in time, the broken line may sag to ground, which can cause fire and personal injury. In this paper, the fault feature after a single-phase disconnection fault is analyzed. Further, a line selection criterion based on sequence current variation and a fault location method based on negative sequence current distribution feature are proposed. Finally, PSCAD is used to perform simulation analysis and the simulation result shows that the theoretical analysis is correct and the protection criterion is reliable.
