TroR Negatively Regulates the TroABCD System and Is Required for Resistance to Metal Toxicity and Virulence in Streptococcus suis

operon, which has been demonstrated to be involved in manganese acquisition in S. suis. Moreover, we demonstrated that TroR is required for the virulence of S. suis in an intranasal mouse model. Collectively, these results suggest that TroR is a negative regulator of the TroABCD system and contributes to resistance to metal toxicity and virulence in S. suis.
