Metal nanowire networks are promising materials to replace metal oxide films in transparent conductive electrodes (TCE), but they suffer from low stability in actual working conditions. Here, carbon nanotube/copper (CNT/Cu) composite fibers were fabricated via electrospinning for the first time to address this problem. For this purpose, cysteine was grafted to CNTs’ surface to improve the CNT–Cu interactions. Randomly formed mats of CNT/Cu fibers were used as TCEs which exhibit excellent optoelectrical properties with stable performance at high temperatures and currents, making them an attractive candidate in applications with wide temperature and bias fluctuations such as space explorations.
