All-thiolate-stabilized Ag42 nanocluster with a tetrahedral kernel and its transformation to an Ag61 nanocluster with a bi-tetrahedral kernel

Two new silver nanoclusters, formulated as Ag42 (SBu t ) 24 and Ag61 (SC 6 H 11 ) 40 Cl were prepared by a NaSbF 6 -mediated two-phase ligand exchange method. A size conversion from Ag42 to Ag61 were achieved via cyclohexanethiol etching.
