Mechanisms of cardioprotective effects of resveratrol and related clinical trials: an update

Resveratrol, a natural polyphenolic and phytoalexin that exists in the nature widely. which has become a research focus in many fields because of its wide range biological activities. At present, many preclinical and some clinical studies have provided convincing evidence that resveratrol has cardioprotective property. Here, we will review the mechanisms of cardioprotective effects of resveratrol and related clinical trials. Key words: Resveratrol; Cardiovascular system; Mechanisms; Progress
