Quick orientation of Rotary Magnetic Field Based on Feature Vector

In this paper, an electromagnetic orientation method that uses two orthogonal coils based on the direction-invariant vector is proposed. Two orthogonal coils driven with low frequency phase-quadrature sine signals are used to generate the rotary magnetic field. A novel method based on the feature vector is raised to achieve the quick orientation of the magnetic sensor, which is easy and fast to determine the orientation of the sensor irrespective of the amplitude and phase of the two coils with only several sampling data. Experiments show the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.
