Rapid activation of Co 3 O 4 cocatalysts with oxygen vacancies on TiO 2 photoanodes for efficient water splitting

Herein, we demonstrate a rapid and highly efficient strategy for rationally constructing oxygen vacancies on Co 3 O 4 cocatalysts by Ar-plasma treatment, and the photocurrent density could be achieved up to 2.5 mA cm −2 (1.23 V RHE ) under AM 1.5G irradiation (100 mW cm −2 ).
