A multi input multi output bidirectional DC-DC boost converter with backup battery port

Renewable energy resources and storage devices pave way for the future. Most renewable sources (photovoltaic panels) generate low level voltage while the load demands high voltage levels. The use of converters become essential for voltage gain. Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) converters are obtaining tremendous acclaim worldwide due to their compact size, higher efficiencies and convenience. This paper proposes a novel MIMO DC-DC converter with bidirectional port for battery charging application. Converter supports six ports: three-inputs and three-outputs. Proposed topology is simulated using Matlab Simulink and the output results are plotted in this paper. Hardware prototype of the simulation is also designed and output oscilloscope results are also shown in this paper. The drawn conclusions for the simulation and hardwre results are discussed in detail.
