Between 50 and 75% of male and female Cedes aegypti collected at a rural tire dump near Vero Beach, FL, in March 1992, and males collected inside inhabited houses in San Juan, PR, in October 1991 and January 1992, were fructose positive. In contrast, only 5 of 231 females in the San Juan collections contained fructose. Gravid females in January 1992 contained 3 times more lipid than those in October 1991
