Influence of policy interventions on intensity of clinical use of antibiotics

OBJECTIVE To analyze the change of intensity of the use of antibacterials after policy interventions were implemented in the hospital.METHODS Retrospective survey of the total dosage of antibacterials of the hospitalized patients from Mar to Aug in 2010 and 2011 was performed,the data were taken for statistics by Excel 2003,the intensity of usage of antibacterials was calculated and analyzed with unit of defined daily dose(DDD).RESULTS As compared with the same period in 2010,the intensity of usage of antibacterials in 2011 decreased by 3.99～12.17 DDD under the policy interventions,the AUD of 2011 was 74.68,which was declined as compared with 78.1 of the same period in 2010.CONCLUSION To strengthen the supervision and management of antibact terials can contribute to the reasonable use of antibiotics.
