Status of Hypertension Prevalence and Its Risk Factor Analysis in Communities of Guangzhou City

[Objective]To understand the prevalence and risk factor of hypertension in residents of Guangzhou.[Methods] Multistage sampling method was used to sample 2213 urban residents aged 20~74 years from 3 street districts in Tianhe and Haizhu District of Guangzhou.A face-to-face interview was adopted to obtain general condition,lifestyle and behavior,family history of Guangzhou residents.Related health examination and laboratory testing were conducted.[Results]The standardized prevalence of hypertension was 18.9%,among which the male's was 33.4%,the female's was 31.2%.the risk factors of hypertension were ages,BMI,family history,WHR,fried food and hyperlipidemia.[Conclusion]Hypertension status of community residents is not optimistic,the health education and promotion should be enhanced,and healthy lifestyle should be advocated.
