Establishment of animal model and expression of estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor in rat cyclomastopathy.

Objective To investigate pathogenesis and pathomorphology and estrogen receptor(ER) and progesterone receptor(PR) expression in rat model of cyclomastopathy.Methods Twenty six female nonfertile Wistar rats were divided into control group and model group randomly.The rats of model group were injected with benzestrofol and flavolutan to induce cyclomastopathy,while the rats of control group were injected with normal saline.Pathological and histological examinations were performed on the second and third pairs of breast of the rats.The expression of ER and PR in mammary glandular tissue were analyzed by immuno-histochemistry.Results The second and third pairs of breast of rats were significantly enlarged in model group.The pathology was consistent with cyclomastopathy.The positive intensity and number of ER,PR indicated in immuno-histochemistry were increased while hyperplasia of mammary glands was severe.Conclusion A great quantity of ectogenic estradiol can induce mammoplasia.The expression of ER and PR is correlate with the degree of mammoplasia.
