Discussion of the measurement methods for laser induced damage threshold of optical coating

Recently the measurement methods for laser induced damage threshold(LIDT) of optical coating basically can be divided three types:international standard ISO 11254,national military standard in China GJB 1487-1992 and respective standards in companies.These standards are simply introduced at beginning,then some items of them are discussed.It is suggested that the international standard should be adoptel as soon as possible,and it is very important and urgent to set up the device for measuring LIDT.
