The correlation between psychiatric symptoms and memory in chronic schizophrenia patients

Objective To study the correlation between MMPI of chronic schizophrenic patients and their memory, and to explore whether MMPI reflect the memory dysfunction of schizophrenic patients. Methods 76 chronic schizophrenic patients, who were consistent with schizophrenic diagnostic criteria in CCMD-3, were assessed with Clinical Memory Scale, and MMPI, treated the data with correlation analysis. Results Schizophrenia were significantly negative correlated with memory evaluation(r=-0.227～-0.351).The results were statistically significant (P0.05). Conclusions Scales of Pt、Sc、D1、D4、Sc1B、Sc2A、Sc2B、Sc2C et al, in MMPI, may reflect the memory impairment of schizophrenia.
