Leaf Senescence and Protective Enzyme System of Spring Wheat Hybird

The superior type K hybrid spring wheat 901 was used to study the relationship between leaf senescenceand protective enzyme system with the conventional wheat variety Shann 229 as control group. The study indicated thatthe activities of all kinds of protective enzymes SOD, POD and CAT in hybrid 901 were higher and more stable than thoseof Shann 229. The ability of hybrid 901 to eliminate free radicals and active oxygen was better and the cell structural integritycould be maintained in a longer period. Therefore, the stress resistance was enbanced and the leaf senescence was delayed.
