The Effect of Oxygen and Anaesthesia on Radiosensitivityin vivoof Epithelial Cells of Mouse Skin

Using techniques for cloning skin epithelial cells in-situ in mice, it has been possible to estimate the radiosensitivity of these cells in oxygen at three atmospheres, in air, and in anoxia. The effect of anaesthesia on the aerobic radio-sensitivity is discussed. The data are compared with those obtained from observation of the gross response of skin and with results of irradiation in-vivo of other cell types. An estimate of oxygen tension within epithelial cells of mouse skin has been made.
