Abstract Three butyl acrylate‐acrylonitrile copolymers of varying composition were synthesized and their solubility parameters were determined. On the basis of these parameter values the viscosity determinations for solutions of poly(vinyl chloride) with these copolymers in a mutual solvent as well as the compatibility of the investigated polymers were discussed.
