Proton Conductivity: Compounds and their Structural and Chemical Peculiarities

Abstract The problem of proton conductivity in condensed matter is summarized from a phenomenological point of view. Different families of compounds with proton conductivity are distinguished with particular emphazise on their conduction mechanism. Finally some structural peculiarities typically occuring with proton conductivity are extracted from the comparison of data from good and poor proton conductors.
