Unit-cell dimensions of Hofmann pyridine complexes

The unit-cell dimensions of the compounds with the formula M(C 5 H 5 N) 2 Ni(CN) 4 , where M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and Cd, were determined from x-ray powder-diffraction patterns. The already existing results of the single-crystal structure analysis of the cadmium compound were used to index the powder patterns. The similarity of the powder patterns and of the lattice constants suggests that these compounds are the members of an isomorphous series.
