Although it was first isolated from humans in 1949 (1) and has subsequently been isolated from multiple sites (2-4), its potential as a human pathogen is unclear. The only well-described cases of infections caused by this organism have been in a patient with an appendiceal abscess (3) and in one with a pilonidal abscess (4). We report here a case of infectious endocarditis caused by this organism and its sensitivities to several antibiotics.A 57-year-old man was admitted to Montefiore Hospital in August 1978...References1.
