Carbohydrate Intolerance and Lipemia

The association between carbohydrate intolerance and lipemic disorders has been described and a pathophysiological classification developed. There appears to be little evidence for a cause-and-effect relation between carbohydrate intolerance and endogenous lipemia (hypertriglyceridemia). One factor common to both, adiposity, may contribute to their frequent coexistence.
