An Eu 3+ post-functionalized nanosized metal–organic framework for cation exchange-based Fe 3+ -sensing in an aqueous environment

Highly luminescent MIL-53–COOH (Al) nanocrystals were fabricated by post-functionalization with Eu 3+ , which demonstrates super selectivity and sensitivity in detection of Fe 3+ in aqueous solutions.
