Natural mixtures of bacterial ubiquinones (coenzyme Q) were separated according to the length of the polyisoprenyl side‐chain using reverse‐phase thin‐layer chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography. The chromatographic systems described afford a rapid and sensitive means of ubiquinone characterization.
