Reactions of Complex Ligands, XLIII. ‐ Optically Active Aminocarbene Complexes: Reagents for the Regiospecific and Diastereoselective Synthesis of γ‐Lactams Optically active pentacarbonyl[amino(aryl)carbene] complexes 2 ‐ 5 of chromium have been obtained by aminolysis of methoxycarbene complexes 1 with L‐amino acid esters. The alanyl and phenylalanyl compounds 2, 3 react with 1‐octyne regiospecifically and moderately diastereoselectively to give the pyrrolinones 6, 7.
