A DEM-CFD-coupled numerical simulation of the 2D fluidized bed with heat transfer is performed. The measurement of the temperature distribution of particles using the infrared thermography is also conducted to validate the heat transfer models. In the simulation, various heat transfer processes are considered, such as the heat transfer due to gas convection and the convective motion of the particles, the gas-particle and gas-wall heat transfer, the particle-particle or particle-wall heat transfer due to contact and turbulent heat diffusion. In the experiment, spherical aluminum particles of 3.14mm in mean diameter are used. The air at the room temperature was sent to hot particle bed at about 150℃ through the nozzle located at the center of bottom of the vessel. The comparison of the particle temperature distributions of the experiment and the simulation shows that agreement is good in the region wall effect is small, but not good region the wall effect is relatively large.
