Nonmuscle myosin heavy chainⅡA(NMHCⅡA) is one of the heavy chain of type II nonmuscular myosin.NMHC ⅡA has aroused more and more attention from domestic and overseas experts in recent years.It is certified that mutations in the MYH9 gene cause several inherited disease,such as macrothrombocytopenia with leukocyte inclusions,hearing loss,cataracts,and renal failure etc.N MHCⅡA is also involved in cytokinesis,cell motility,maintenance of cell shape,thrombosis,inflammation,tumor formation and metastasi and so on.Gene mutation,alteration of expression level,conformation and phosphorylation level,change of disposition and binding proteins of NMHCⅡA may play an important role in the pathogenesis of disease.In this paper,the latest advances of NMHCⅡA in physiological and pathological functions are introduced.
